Digitally created maps of rides both past and future. Some have been manually mapped out, others have been digitally recorded while in progress via GPS tracking and then imported into mapping software.
RIDES PLOTTED ON MAP MANUALLY
This section contains map files of rides that have been manually plotted
using DeLorme's STREET ATLAS.
Files in RED simply display an image of the entire ride area with little detail.
These maps can be viewed simply by double clicking them. No special software is needed to get a birds eye
view of a ride but with no detail. The display is simply a graphic picture of the entire ride.
Files in GREEN will provide the 'SAF' format file to display the map in your
own locally installed copy of STREET ATLAS with complete functionality and
detail when in Route mode such as a list of directions, time & mileage expectation, Points
of Interest, ie: gas stations, parks, restaurants etc.

GPS TRACKED AND RECORDED RIDES
Most recent ride at bottom of list
This section contains map files of rides that have actually been ridden and
were recorded via GPS tracking using an on-board Land Air Sea 3100
recorder. You have two ways to view a ride's GPS created maps.
1) View it with GOOGLE EARTH. Click here to download the free version and follow the directions to install it on your machine.
Note: The following directions are for Windows XP. Other versions of Windows may vary slightly as to how to load the map file.
To view a ride with use of aerial photography :
1) Select the ride you wish to view below and click the yellow X.
2) Click OPEN in the dialog box.
3) DOUBLE CLICK the ' KLM DOC' icon. The file will download into your
Temporary Internet Files folder. GOOGLE EARTH should automatically
start the 'LandAirSea Tracking Data' file that appears in the file list in the
left panel.
The route will appear on the map as a purple line. The route can be zoomed in on or tilted showing the terrain and landmarks. Make sure that you check the 'Roads' box in Layers to turn it on and make roads viewable. Any other option boxes can also be checked but 'Roads' is required. Again, the software needed is absolutely free.
OR
2) View it with DeLorme STREET ATLAS To do so, you must purchase STREET ATLAS and install it on your machine. The program is available at most computer software stores or on-line. List price is $49.95. It's worth the price!!
To view the ride plotted out on a conventional road map:
1) Select the ride you wish to view below and click the orange X.
2) Click SAVE and save to a folder on your machine (the c:\DeLorme
Docs\GPSlogs folder created when Street Atlas was installed perhaps).
3) Click Run Street Atlas will open.
4) Click the DRAW
5) Click the 'FILES' tab near the bottom
6) Click 'IMPORT'
7) Select the file from the folder you saved it in. The GPS data will be plotted
onto the map the way the ride was actually ridden, which may
be different from the proposed ride map above.
Note: The directions above are for Windows XP. Other versions of Windows may vary slightly as to how to load the map file. You may need to start Street Atlas normally first and then load the log file from the folder you saved it to.
Remember: you must click the DRAW tab and import the file that you saved above.
The file you are downlaoding is a copy of the coordinates file that was recorded by and downloaded from the on-board GPS recorder. Those coordinates will plot and create a new 'DRAW' mode map on your machine.
To view general trip statistics.
1) Click the red X Start and stop times, stop locations, durations.
To display ride as an image map
1) Click the blue X to open an image file of the ride with no detail
